RECORDS TUMBLE AS INDIA THRASHES BANGLADESH
India continues to lead the World Test Championship Table after yet another comprehensive home test victory over Bangladesh at Kanpur on Tuesday.
A test match where India played with a run rate of 8.22 in the 1st Innings didn't just turn out to be a new method of play but also a match winning one. Skipper Rohit Sharma made his intentions very clear when he stepped out to hit a six off Khaled Ahmed on the seventh delivery of the innings. It just took three overs for India to reach the fifty mark with Jaiswal joining the party. Wickets fell but every Indian batter stuck to the team's requirement of playing at a certain pace which eventually led India to a total of 285 with a lead of 52 runs over opposition's first innings total.
Positive for India - Player of the Match Yashasvi Jaiswal undoubtedly looked the most compact batter with the scores of 72 and 51 at a healthy strike rate of 141 and 113. Indian bowling unit hunted as a group with veterans Bumrah and Ashwin picking 11 out of 20 wickets.
Positive for Bangladesh - Mominul Haque scored an unbeaten ton against quality Indian bowling line-up in the first innings at Kanpur.
What's next - India and Bangladesh will next face each other in the three match T20I series beginning 6th October at Gwalior.
